What are Body Shop Labor Rates?

Body shops generally sell time, that's their commodity, yes they also sell parts but, its their service that gets the customer in the door.

A Body Shop Labor Rate is how much per hour a body shop has to charge a customer to cover the technician doing the work, overhead of the shop and enough of a profit margin to justify the investment.

How much should I charge?  Hmm, well that amount is different for every shop because every shop has different expense variables that comes with varied locations.

The sweet spot is setting your labor rate competitive enough to beat other shops but high enough to make a profit.  We can target that number with the "Labor Rate Calculator".
